Scientific Name: Tradescantia spathacea 'Silver'
Common Name: Silver Oyster Plant, Moses in a Boat 'Silver', Moses in the Cradle

Wandering Judes are native to Mexico, Central America and Colombia, but have been naturalized to other locations in the world as well. In nature, they are a rapidly spreading groundcover and if left to their own devices they will form low thickets or mats. These fun tropicals are very fast-growing, and are easy to propagate from cuttings. They are beautiful trailing plants, perfect for hanging baskets or bookshelves.

The Silver Inchplant can bloom at any time, featuring small white flowers that sit nestled into the boat-like shape of then leaves, giving it it's common nickname or Moses in the Cradle. If left to grow on it's own, the Silver will start growing upwards, reaching 6-10" before falling to the ground.

Care: Bright indirect light, avoid direct sunlight as that can burn the leaves. Water when top of soil is dry, try not to let the soil dry completely out. Tradescantias are somewhat tolerant of neglect, so they can handle the occasional late watering, but prefer to have moisture in the soil. Most importantly - avoid getting water directly on the leaves, they really hate that! The leaves can get brown spots if they get water on their leaves. If this happens, don't worry, your plant is fine!! You can remove the brown leaves if you choose but your plant will be just fine.

***Due to the unique nature of plants, the one we carefully choose for you won't look exactly like the photos. but it will be just as beautiful!
